Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • At least 1 year of register or customer service experience.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • An ability to multi-task, especially during busy times.
  • A passion for being accurate and efficient!
  • Willingness to follow processes and procedures.
  • Able to comfortably and repeatedly lift 40 lbs.
  • Able to work standing, bending, moving, or lifting 100% of the day.
  • Able to stand behind a register for an entire shift (up to 8 hours).
  • Must work well in a team.
  • Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.
  • Plant knowledge is a plus!

Responsibilities:

  • Cashiering.
  • Greeting customers.
  • Team up with management to help maintain inventory.
  • Answering phones and transferring calls.
  • Maintaining a clean and inviting environment.
  • Completing the Opening and Closing Checklists.
  • Perform all operational procedures accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Provide a high level of individualized customer service. Exceed customer expectations by building genuine, long-lasting relationships with our guests through personalized attention.
  • Have knowledge of and share with customers all in store events.
  • Assist in training and development of peers.
  • Possess effective and positive communication skills.
  • Working with other team members to complete tasks as needed

Yard employees help keep our plants thriving! You will be responsible for the upkeep and organization of our sales areas, and of course we want you to water the plants too. This job is outdoors, so dressing appropriately for the weather is a must.

We want plant savvy people who can handle multitasking and working hard out in the elements to join our crew.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Some knowledge of plants is preferred.
  • A desire to learn is a must!
  • A passion to learn about and care for plants.
  • Must have outstanding customer service skills.
  • Must be physically fit and able to comfortably and repeatedly lift 50 lbs.
  • Able to work standing, bending, moving, or lifting 100% of the day.
  • Must be a team player and have great communication skills.
  • Must be able to communicate efficiently on a 2-way radio.
  • Must have strong self-starting motivation.
  • Merchandise knowledge of outdoor nursery and accessories preferred.
  • Be able to pull 100 feet of garden hose for the entire shift.
  • Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities:

  • Stand trees and shrubs up before watering.
  • Be aware of weather changes affecting plant water needs.
  • Loading soils, plants, and other large items into customer vehicles.
  • Assisting in unloading trucks with new plant stock & supplies.
  • Helping with heavy lifting throughout the nursery.
  • Working with other team members to complete tasks as needed.
  • Know Nursery layout, i.e. Shrub rows, Evergreens, N. Driveway, Courtyard, etc.
  • Be aware of the condition of pots and plants.
  • Learn the layout of the nursery and be able to accurately direct customers.
  • Direct customers to sales staff.
  • Be plant savvy!
  • Know pot sizes and bedding plant container sizes.
  • Keep hoses and watering wands organized and well cared for.
  • Know what a plant should look like when healthy.
